Dobson & Parnell is a bustling, smart, reliable, grown-up casual fine-dine restaurant on Newcastle’s vibrant quayside. Specialising in perfectly-executed, refined British and European cuisine, utilising preserving techniques and using ethically-sourced local, sustainable and seasonal produce.


The Hooked-on Group is the parent company of Blackfriars Restaurant and Dobson & Parnell in Newcastle and Hinnies Restaurant in Whitley Bay.

  • The main purpose of this role will be to take orders and carry food and drink to the guest’s table
  • You are responsible for effectively and efficiently completing every task required, including setting up the restaurant, running a section if required, cleaning and closing down.
  • You may be required to serve drinks behind the bar and serve wine at a guests table


  • The successful candidates will have at least one year’s relevant experience, a friendly personality, excellent customer care skills and good attention to detail.
  • You must have great organisation skills
  • The ability to work well under pressure
  • Good knowledge of food and wine is also essential to these roles.
