Access

The law states that everyone should have equal access to products and services in the UK. We aim to provide access to people of all abilities as far as is practicable including those with mobility impairments (including stick and wheelchair users), visual impairments, hearing impairments, arthritis and limited dexterity, mental health and learning difficulties. We are housed within a Grade I Listed Building which restricts some measures such as providing a full access disabled toilet.

FOOT
We are a 7-10 minute walk from both Monument Metro Station and Central Station.

BUS
Quaylink buses stop outside the Guildhall which is a 2 to 3 minute walk from the restaurant and the Quayside Law Courts which are a 3 to 4 minutes walk away.

CAR
Metered roadside parking is available immediately outside the restaurant. Alternatively, there are a number of car parks nearby. There are also a number of Blue badge Disabled Parking Bays on the Quayside and Akenside Hill.

ENTRANCE
Access into the restaurant from street level is through one double entrance door, a lobby and an inner door which is approximately 850mm wide. Other than a low threshold into the restaurant, the entrance is fairly level and flat.

DINING ROOM
There is plenty of room for wheelchairs to manoeuvre with a number of movable chairs and tables alongside the fixed seating.

VISIBILITY
The dining areas are lit by low-level lights. Staff are happy to read through any menu. Large font menus can be supplied upon request with prior notice, as can reading glasses. Blind dogs are welcome with water supplied upon request.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
We can cater for most dietary requirements, some by prior notice.

TOILETS
A disabled access toilet is not available. The toilets are located in the basement of the building which is accessed via a set of stairs approximately 840mm wide. The entrance door of the toilets and cubicle doors are approximately 600mm wide. The cubicles have proved too narrow to accommodate grab rails.

BREAST-FEEDING/BABY CHANGING
We are happy to accommodate mothers who wish to breast feed. We don’t have baby-changing facilities though will help facilitate baby changing as best we can.

LANGUAGES
Our staff speak a variety of languages – just ask.
